Kandersteg is a small traditional Swiss village at 1200m (4,000ft) in the mountains of the Bernese Oberland. It has a population of only 1200 which means it has remained a friendly place to holiday and take advantage of the stunning scenery, beautiful walks (whether serious mountaineering, strenuous hill walking or a stroll), quieter ski slopes and cross country tracks (50km).
